Is it because it attracts people who download a lot? I will be playing games online, my housemates will be watching HD videos on Netflix, and there is another modem downstairs which I reckon also uses 2.4GHz.

Also, I have been informed that an unlimited plan usually attracts leechers and with increasing numbers of them on a particular network, the download speeds decrease severely. If a customer is not happy, we don't want to keep them locked in.Our customer care team are entirely based on-shore here in Australia, so you will always speak to someone local. We back ourselves with no lock-in contracts on any plans, so our motto is try us and see how you go.We use M2 Group to wholesale our NBN and ADSL services. We are very confident with the quality of service we offer, both in terms of the actual connection itself and our customer service and support. It doesn't sound correct that this would occur after consuming 500GB, however these are assessed on a case by case basis by our network provider. And last time I checked TPG got fined pretty heavily recently for restricting accounts that were unlimited.

Edit: Signed up on the 18th, connection went live on the 20th, first unacceptable use email recieved on the 22nd, Breach of AUP email recieved on the 25th (though the connection was limited in the early hours of the 24th) Cancelled connection on the 25th. And at the time your AUP on your website did not specify any specific limits or what would deem it to be excessive usage.

What are the things that you look into when buying a modem for online gaming and HD streaming? I went for this as it is not unlimited, but should be sufficient.

Again, please tell me why is unlimited usually congested?

Hi, I came across a NBN plan from Barefoot Telecom.

Following are the details: - Unlimited- 100 Mbps- 9 per month- No contract- 9 Supercharge modem.

Keep in mind during the phone signup i specifically asked about download limits/timeframes as i regularly use 2-3tb a month as an average and was told it would be fine.
